Are Laser Printer Toners Dangerous to your Health?

Small Business Comments Off

There have been a number of reports recently suggesting that laser printer toners may be dangerous for your health. A team of scientists from the Queensland University of Technology in Australia did a study, testing over 60 different types of toners, and found that many of them leaked emissions, which were dangerous to breath.

While this sounds alarming, there’s no need to throw your printer out the window immediately. The risk is, of course, higher for people working in a printing room, whose jobs involve printing continuously all day long. For the rest of us, the risks are much lower. Many people rushed to compare to threat to that of cigarette smoking, but I’m more inclined to view it as similar to the city pollution we all encounter these days. Yes, it’s riskier than smelling the roses (unless you’re allergic to roses), but I doubt this it’s so serious that I need to cease all my printing activities immediately. Let’s just wait and see what other associations and studies have to say.

Security Seals Cable Seals 30 inch

Business, Sales, Small Business Comments Off

Some shipping companies are even thinking of using 30 inch cable seals in order to wrap the bars of the trailer doors as some large companies were saying that this had to be used on their loads.  This though never went anywhere as the cost of that cable was so high and the companies that did the hauling also proved that wrapping the bars did not increase the security of that trailer load.  The larger companies thought that if the bars were wrapped this would show more tampering but in the end if someone cuts the cable to tamper with the load then that cable seal is gone and there is no amount of wrapping that makes it harder to cut.   We carry some stock though as some tanker companies do need a larger cable seal security seals that will fit into the various handles that lock the flow of the gas or oil or corrosive chemicals that the tanker is carrying.
